Mebis was developed under the motto "Only those who are informed can participate and co-determine". The primary aim was to promote the participation in information, support in everyday life, and independence of people with disabilities. Essentially, however, it is for everyone.

Mebis offers the possibility to present information in an accessible and interactive way. It allows for individualized design of content, structure, and visual presentation. To ensure intuitive operation, we rely on the use of buttons. These can display different types of content such as images, videos, PDFs, and websites, or lead to a new layer with additional buttons. The number of buttons per layer can be defined variably.

Another focus of Mebis is on the delivery of educational content. For this purpose, we provide various options for presenting and deepening knowledge. Content can be customized and expanded to convey information as clearly and simply as possible. Interactive or playful tests allow users to further reinforce the new information.

Communication between users and creators is also important. For this purpose, we provide various options for gathering feedback, interests, and general responses from users to the creators.

Yes, Mebis-Online provides special features to accomplish this quickly and easily.

Yes, but you must distinguish between the Mebis kiosk system and Mebis-Online.

In the Mebis Kiosk System, you can access all websites without restrictions because it is a standalone app.

Mebis-Online on the other hand is a web app, essentially a normal website. The restriction is that only websites that do not explicitly prohibit this can be embedded. Whether embedding is allowed can be checked by placing the desired page in Mebis-Online. If the message “https://example.com has refused the connection” appears, the embedding is blocked. In this case it would work in the kiosk system, but not in Mebis-Online. However, if Mebis-Online is also used extensively for viewing, there are two options:

  • Ask the website operator for an exception. Technical Details
  • Use a widget offered by the website that can be embedded on your own homepage (e.g., Weather-Online)

Yes, you can assign different permissions per level and/or button to users or user groups

Yes, the manual contains all the important information. Many functions are also provided with videos.

Yes, we can provide you with a test environment for a maximum of 4 weeks. You will then have access to your own area where you can test all the functions of Mebis-Online. We would also give you a brief introduction at the start of the test setup.

Mebis-Online runs on all devices, such as tablets, smartphones, PCs, etc., and is operating system independent.

Mebis-Kiosk - Separate hardware system with integrated height adjustment

A full backup is made every night of all data. The last 7 days are secured daily. Additionally, there is a backup every week, so the last 4 weeks are always available. Moreover, there is a backup once a month for the last 6 months. Also, it must be noted that deleted keys are initially in the recycle bin and can be restored without data backup.

Yes, we are happy to offer training courses and customize them according to your requirements. We generally divide our offer into three areas:

  • Administrator Training – User management, permissions, and system settings.
  • User Training – Basic functions of Mebis-Online.
  • Learning System Training – Special functions related to our Mebis Learning System.

Mebis is a browser-based application and can be used on various devices such as tablets, smartphones, notebooks, or our Mebis terminal.

No, you can cancel the Mebis system on a monthly basis. The rent is then always only charged fully for the month that has begun.

You always need a Mebis-Online license

If you want to use a kiosk system, you need one kiosk system license per system.
